Job summary

HammondCare At Home is expanding its team in the Tweed Heads region and seeks several permanent part-time Specialised Carers. You will support clients in their own homes, travelling with your own car and receiving a paid km allowance, travel time, and a work mobile phone.

Flexible days and weekend loading are available to suit your needs. The role focuses on helping older people live independently, with training provided and opportunities to advance.

Qualifications

• Ability to relate to clients and maintain a patient, solutions-focused approach.
• Experience in aged or community care is desirable but not required.
• Valid driver's licence and access to a insured, reliable car.
• Willingness to obtain required training and relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care such as showering and dressing.
• Assist with meal preparation and light housekeeping at home.
• Transport clients to appointments and assist with shopping.
• Assist with medications as directed and required.

  HammondCare At Home is continuing to expand our services and we are seeking several permanent part-time Specialised Carers to provide support to our Clients across the Tweed Heads region.

  
  

  Our specialised carer receives a work mobile phone, paid travel time and kilometres. We have flexible days of the week as well as start and finish times, and weekend loading if you choose to work weekends.

  
  

  About the role

  
  

  In this role, you'll provide essential and practical care to help older people live independently in their homes and directly improve their quality of life. The role requires travel to clients homes using your own car for which you'll be paid $0.96 cents per km plus paid travel time.

  The care work you'll be doing may include:

  
  
  
  
  • Providing personal care - helping with showering and dressing

  About you

  
  
  
  
  • You can relate to people and you're patient and solutions-focused.
  
  
  • You may have previous experience in aged or community care or are looking to start your career in aged care.
  
  
  • You have a valid Drivers Licence and access to an insured, reliable car (min. Third Party Property Insurance).
  
  
  • Ideally, you'll have a Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support. If you're not currently qualified and would like to be, then we can help you.
  
  
  • You'll be flexible around meeting the changing needs of home care clients.

  You will be required to undertake a Police Check, Functional assessment, provide two referees and evidence of minimum 2 COVID-19 vaccinations.
