Job summary

Wesley Mission Queensland Limited is seeking an Activities Officer (Leisure & Lifestyle) to deliver person-centred programs for residents in a residential aged care setting at Parkview, Chermside. The role aims to enhance quality of life by supporting physical, social and emotional wellbeing and promoting independence.

You will plan, implement and evaluate activities, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, supervise volunteers and assist with documentation, ensuring safety and adherence to

Qualifications

• Experience planning, implementing and evaluating lifestyle or recreational programs, preferably in aged care.
• Experience supporting older people, including those living with dementia.
• Ability to build strong, respectful relationships with residents, families and team members.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to document progress.
• Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team and to use Microsoft Office; learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and evaluate leisure and lifestyle programs tailored to residents’ needs.
• Facilitate activities that provide psychosocial and physical stimulation, including dementia-friendly programs.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support resident care and wellbeing outcomes.
• Build relationships with residents, families and external stakeholders to support engagement.
• Assist with ordering and maintaining program resources within budget and ensure safety compliance.
