Job summary

Cooinda Court Aged Care is seeking a Junior Chef or Senior Food Service/Cook to prepare and serve meals aligned with residents' nutritional care plans. This role ensures hygiene compliance and supports menu planning and nutrition reviews.

The position is casual with a pathway to permanent part-time, offering 34 hours weekly across two shifts, Monday to Friday with weekends/holidays negotiable. Prior training in food safety and nutrition is required.

Qualifications

• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Developed administrative skills and problem-solving abilities.
• May require formal qualifications at trade or Advanced Certificate or Associate Diploma level and/or relevant skills training or experience.
• Police Check and Visa – where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Standard 6 Food and Nutrition in accordance with the Food Safety Manual.
• Prepare nutritional meals to residents as per menus in accordance with the resident's care plan and likes and dislikes.
• Ensure daily compliance with hygiene legislation.
• Supervise the work of others, including work allocation and guidance.
• Manage food supply ordering, stock control and stock rotation.
• Compile rotational menu planning and coordinate nutritionist menu review.
• Manage internal audits for kitchen and implement nutrition and dining recommendations from the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.
• Ensure operational documents are up to date, completed and filed.
• Complete Kitchen Audits and provide monthly Board report.
• Function autonomously, prioritising work within established policies, guidelines and procedures.
