Job summary

Life Without Barriers is seeking a Casual Aged Care Home & Community Assistant to provide personalised home care in Mackay. You’ll travel between clients’ homes, assist with daily tasks, and support independence in the community.

Shifts are 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with no weekend or overnight work. A current driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are essential, and you’ll receive a kilometre reimbursement and a casual rate with super.

Qualifications

• Australian Driver’s Licence and a reliable vehicle with third-party insurance
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships
• Passion for making a positive impact in ageing community
• Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certificates (must be obtained prior to employment)

Responsibilities

• Domestic assistance such as light housekeeping and meal preparation
• Personal care including showering, daily hygiene, health monitoring
• Community access to medical appointments and social activities
• Provide support with daily tasks and routines
• Build positive relationships with clients and their families
