Life Without Barriers is seeking a Casual Aged Care Home & Community Assistant in Mackay to provide personalised in-home support for older Australians. You will travel between clients’ homes in Mackay, with a kilometre allowance reimbursed at 1.01 per kilometre while you work.

Shifts run 7:00 am–7:00 pm, Monday to Friday; no weekend/evening/overnight work. You’ll assist with daily tasks, personal care, and transport to appointments, building strong relationships with clients and their families.

Qualifications

• Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with third-party insurance.
• Strong communication skills to build and maintain relationships.
• Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certificates.
• Willingness to travel between Mackay clients to provide in-home care.

About the Role

As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant, you will be providing personalised home care support to older Australians in Mackayso they can continue living independently in their own homes. You will travel between clients’ homes, so a willingness to travel is essential (you will be reimbursed $1.01 per kilometre travelled while you are working).

We are seeking a casual team member to provide leave coverage as required. Shifts are available between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with no weekend, evening, or overnight work. Skills & Experience

• An Australian Driver’s Licence and a reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
• Passionate about making a positive impact in our ageing community
• A current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and Provide CPR (HLTAID009) certificate/s (must be obtained prior to employment)

Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check and an Aged Care Statutory Declaration.
