Job summary

ARRCS is seeking an experienced Cook to support meals for residents and Home Care customers at the Tjipiku Pampaku Ngura Flexible aged care facility in Pukatja, SA. The role includes occasional Kitchen Hand duties, menus development, and storage of consumables, with relocation to APY Lands.

The position is permanent full-time (38 h/week) with salary of $34.81-$37.75 per hour gross. Shared housing and travel allowances are provided.

Qualifications

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or similar discipline.
Food Handlers Certificate to the 3.2.2A / SITXFSA005 standard.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a commercial cook environment, ideally in health/aged care.
Menu development and ability to handle multiple dietary requirements.
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation for food prep and storage.
Willingness to pursue additional training and adapt to priorities in unsupervised work.
Empathy for aged people and their families; able to relocate to APY Lands.

Responsibilities

Support preparation, handling, and storage of meals for residents and Home Care consumers.
Occasionally perform Kitchen Hand duties, ordering, and meal prep when required.
Store consumables appropriately and maintain kitchen hygiene and safety.
Travel to other ARRCS communities on APY Lands as needed; 4WD travel and possible overnight stays.
