Job summary

Uniting NSW & ACT is seeking a dedicated Cook to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to the dietary needs of aged care residents. This casual role offers base pay + super + casual loading, with flexibility to suit your needs.

You will prepare daily meals that accommodate texture-modified options, plan rotating menus with the Service Manager, and ensure optimal food safety, storage, and budgeting practices within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chef with Certificate III in Hospitality or equivalent.
• Experience in aged care or healthcare settings is highly regarded.
• Familiarity with cook-fresh and cook-chill methodologies.
• Strong understanding of dietary controls and texture-modified food preparation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook daily meals that meet individual dietary requirements.
• Plan and rotate menus in consultation with residents and Service Manager.
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards per regulatory requirements.
• Manage food purchasing, storage, and usage within budget guidelines.
• Foster a safe, respectful kitchen environment aligned with Safe Work Practices.
