Job summary

RFBI Cessnock Masonic Village is seeking an experienced Cook to join our catering team on a part-time basis. You will assist the head chef, set the dining area and serve meals, delivering friendly, homely service to residents.

Key duties include complying with food safety programs, preparing dining area, cleaning, assisting in meal prep, and catering for special functions while meeting nutritional standards for the elderly. Safe Food Handling qualification is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Safe Food Handling
• Certificate III in Hospitality (desirable)
• Working knowledge of Food Safety principles
• Knowledge of special dietary needs for the elderly
• Understanding of WHS responsibilities, including manual handling principles

Responsibilities

• Compliance with food and safety program, providing high quality, efficient and effective service
• Prepare the dining area for mealtimes, serving food and drinks to our residents
• Maintain a clean work environment ensuring all cleaning and dishwashing is done in a timely manner
• Assist the head chef with preparation of meals
• Prepare meals in compliance with health and nutritional standards
• Assist in catering for special functions
