Job summary

Bolton Clarke Residential Aged Care Opportunities – Blue Mountains NSW is seeking a dedicated Cook to deliver high-quality food services to residents and support the Chef with kitchen duties. You will plan, prepare, and present nutritious meals and ensure meals meet residents’ diverse needs.

The role requires a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and at least one year’s experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably in aged care or hospital settings.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher.
• Minimum of one year’s experience in a commercial kitchen (aged care or hospital experience preferred).
• Bulk cooking experience (highly desirable).
• Experience preparing texture-modified meals (advantageous).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Take direction from the Chef and work collaboratively within the kitchen team.
• Plan, prepare, and present nutritious meals for residents.
• Assist with general food preparation, kitchen duties, and stock control.
• Purchase and order food supplies and kitchen equipment as required.
• Ensure all food is prepared, cooked, and served in compliance with relevant legislation and food safety standards.
