Job summary

Calvarycare is seeking a qualified Cook to join our aged care kitchen on a casual basis in New South Wales. The role focuses on planning and preparing meals that meet residents' individual dietary, nutritional, cultural and personal preferences, while offering choice and delivering quality food service in a safe, welcoming environment.

Responsibilities include cooking daily meals, supervising in absence of management, documenting residents' requirements, and reporting any food safety concerns.

Qualifications

• Desirable: TAFE Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or Cert III in Food Studies
• Experience in aged care or healthcare setting
• HLTFSE001 Basic Food Safety Practices completed or willing to obtain
• Knowledge of IDDSI and nutritional guidelines
• Ability to cook meals in line with planned menus
• Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control
• Operate standard domestic and industrial kitchen equipment

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily meals and beverages meeting residents' dietary, nutritional and cultural needs.
• Monitor and suggest improvements to food service under the Chef Manager.
• Supervise kitchen in absence of Cook/Chef Manager.
• Document residents' requirements and changes on shift.
• Report food safety hazards/non-compliances to Home/Chef Manager or Chef
