Job summary

Uniting NSW & ACT is seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare nutritious meals for our aged care residents, including texture-modified options. This role requires empathy, adaptability and a commitment to excellence in food service.

You will plan menus, ensure regulatory food safety, manage purchasing within budget, and foster a safe kitchen environment while maintaining high quality and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chef with a Certificate III in Hospitality or Commercial Cookery.
• Experience in aged care or healthcare settings preferred.
• Knowledge of cook-fresh and cook-chill methods.
• Understanding of dietary controls and texture-modified cooking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook daily meals meeting dietary requirements.
• Plan and rotate menus with the Service Manager and residents.
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage food purchasing, storage and usage within budget.
• Foster a safe, respectful kitchen environment.
