Job summary

Roshana Care Group is seeking a motivated Cook/Chef to join Parklands Aged Care in Queensland. In this casual/permanent part-time role, you will prepare nutritious meals, cater to dietary needs, and contribute to a warm, caring dining experience for residents.

You bring a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, hands-on kitchen experience (preferably in aged care or hospitality), knowledge of nutrition and food safety, and a positive team attitude.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook or chef, ideally in aged care, healthcare, or hospitality.
• Knowledge of nutrition, special diets, and food safety standards.
• A genuine passion for preparing meals that make a difference in people’s lives.
• Strong time management skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• A positive, reliable attitude and ability to work well within a team.
• A National Police Clearance or NDIS Screening Check, or willingness to obtain this.
• Food Safety Certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals tailored to residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
• Deliver meals with care and presentation that enhances the dining experience.
• Cater for special diets, allergies, and texture-modified meals.
• Support residents’ enjoyment of food by engaging positively during meal service.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness.
• Assist with menu planning to ensure variety, balance, and resident satisfaction.
• Manage kitchen operations including stock control, storage, and organisation.
• Work collaboratively with the care team to support residents’ wellbeing.
