Job summary

Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT is seeking a part-time Support Service Employee – Cleaning, Kitchen, Laundry (Grade 1) to assist in cafe, morning/afternoon tea, and duties across kitchen, laundry and housekeeping. You’ll work under limited supervision, aiming to deliver friendly service to residents, families, staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role (laundry or cleaning preferred).
• Genuine compassion, commitment and enthusiasm.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to prioritise tasks in a timely manner.
• Empathy toward the elderly and respectful of their needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly, professional, and attentive service to all customers, including residents, families, staff, and community visitors.
• Engage respectfully with older adults, understanding their unique preferences and needs.
• Ensure all fellow staff are committed to serving quality food and courteous service to our residents.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards.
• Assist with full range of domestic duties including cleaning, kitchen and food preparation
• Be responsible for the general cleanliness of the kitchen, including all appliances, storage areas, work benches and floors
• Performing laundry duties to support the smooth running of the facility.
• Ad hoc duties in and around the facility, supporting the residents and staff
