Job summary

Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) is seeking a part-time Support Service Employee – Cleaning, Kitchen, Laundry (Grade 1) to provide general domestic assistance. You will work mainly in the cafe and support morning and afternoon tea, ensuring quality food and courteous service to residents.

Duties span kitchen, laundry and housekeeping, with a 6:30 AM - 1:30 PM shift, Monday to Friday. Experience in laundry or cleaning is valued, and compassion, teamwork and task prioritisation are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Demonstrated compassion and enthusiasm.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to manage and prioritise work tasks in a timely manner.
• Empathy towards elderly residents.

Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly, professional service to residents, families, staff and visitors.
• Assist in cafe, morning/afternoon tea, kitchen, laundry and housekeeping tasks.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and infection control standards.
• Maintain general cleanliness of the kitchen and storage areas.
• Perform laundry duties to support facility operations.
• Take on ad hoc duties around the facility.
