Job summary

Doutta Galla Aged Services is seeking a passionate Chef to join our team on a casual basis in Melbourne. You will prepare nutritious meals, meet dietary requirements, maintain high food safety standards and contribute to a positive dining experience for residents.

As a Chef, you will lead kitchen operations, support staff, and ensure quality service while complying with Aged Care standards. This role offers flexibility and a chance to make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives.

Qualifications

• Must have Food Handling/Food Safety Certificate.
• Knowledge of IDDSI standard and Aged Care New Strengthened Standard.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience in kitchen/food service.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver nutritious meals aligned with menus and dietary needs.
• Provide high-quality, customer-focused food service and cater for events.
• Maintain food quality, presentation and service; participate in audits and accreditation.
• Supervise kitchen operations including rostering and staff development.
• Ensure HACCP, infection control and food safety compliance.
