Job summary

Elderly Care is seeking an experienced Chef to join our Cypress Gardens Aged Care facility in Queensland. This Part-time role focuses on preparing high-quality, nutritious meals for our elderly residents in a caring and professional environment.

Responsibilities include cooking for diverse dietary needs, maintaining food safety, ordering supplies, and mentoring kitchen staff. Flexibility for ongoing training and career progression is offered.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience as a Chef in aged care or healthcare.
• Current Food Safety Certificate and Cert II or III in Cookery.
• Strong culinary skills and knowledge of nutritious meals.
• Excellent communication and teamwork with care staff.
• Good organisational and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals, including special dietary requirements.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and presentation.
• Order and manage kitchen supplies and stock.
• Collaborate with care team on resident dietary needs.
• Mentor and supervise kitchen staff.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist Chef Manager to deliver quality meals to residents.
