Job summary

Medstar Nursing Care is seeking compassionate Personal Care Assistants to support residential aged care facilities in Bankstown and North Nowra, NSW. Casual shifts include mornings, afternoons, nights and weekends, with applicants able to nominate location and availability.

As a PCA you will provide person-centered support that promotes dignity, comfort and independence for residents, working closely with nurses and the care team to follow care plans and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or Certificate III in Aged Care (or equivalent)
• Recent residential aged care experience
• Current National Police Check
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates
• Current Manual Handling certificate
• Evidence of required vaccinations
• Valid Australian working rights
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Availability to work a range of shifts
• A caring, reliable and professional approach

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents with personal care, showering, dressing and grooming
• Supporting mobility, transfers and safe manual handling
• Assisting with meals, hydration and daily activities
• Following individual care plans and facility procedures
• Observing and reporting changes in residents’ health or behaviour
• Completing accurate care documentation
• Providing companionship and emotional support
• Working closely with nurses and other care team members
• Following infection-control and workplace safety requirements

We offer flexible casual shifts, including morning, afternoon, night and weekend work. Applicants may nominate their preferred location and availability.
