Job summary

Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking an Activities Officer to join the Aged Care & Disabilities team. The role focuses on preparing and delivering diversional and recreational activities in consultation with residents to support individual care planning goals.

Work is full-time, 38 hours per week, with a Monday–Sunday roster and weekly pay cycle. The salary is $35.49 per hour plus applicable penalty rates; benefits include leave entitlements and superannuation.

Qualifications

• Experience working with the elderly.
• Experience in diversional/recreational therapies.
• Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) or commitment to obtain within 12 months.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
• Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Proven delivery of care in line with Aged Care Standards.
• Commitment to WHS & EEO principles.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver a program for diversional and recreational activities in consultation with residents and participants to support individual care planning goals.
• Develop, implement and evaluate individual/group resident/participant focused programs.
