Job summary

UPA is seeking a Recreational Activities Officer at Rathgar Lodge, North Coast Region, NSW. The role involves delivering social, recreational and cultural activities to residents, including weekend work in a casual capacity.

You will promote wellbeing and independence, assess progress, and adapt programs to meet individual needs. Applicants should have a Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle, strong communication skills, and experience in aged care.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle is required.
• Senior First Aid Certificate is desirable.
• Experience in an aged care setting preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Strong planning, organisation and activity leadership for residents.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a range of social, recreational and cultural activities for residents.
• Lead mental health and wellbeing programs empowering residents' choices.
• Assess and document program effectiveness and adjust as needed.
• Plan, organise and supervise activities to promote independence and quality of life.
