Job summary

Darling Downs Health is seeking a Recreation Officer to enrich the lives of aged care residents. You will design and deliver meaningful recreational and wellbeing activities tailored to individual interests and goals, helping residents feel valued and connected in the home they share.

You will build strong relationships with residents, families and staff, support wellbeing through engaging programs, and contribute to service improvements that enhance care quality.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering lifestyle, recreational or wellbeing programs in aged care or community settings.
• Ability to tailor activities to individual interests, abilities and cognitive support needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork with a respectful, person-centred approach.
• Current C Class driver's licence and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Certificate III in Diversional Therapy (or working toward) and experience with cognitive impairment.

Responsibilities

• Designing and delivering meaningful recreational, social and wellbeing activities tailored to residents.
• Building positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers and colleagues to create a sense of community.
• Supporting residents' physical, emotional and social wellbeing through engaging programs that encourage participation and confidence.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance resident experiences and services.
