Job summary

Village Roadshow Theme Parks is seeking an Afterhours Security Officer at Sea World, Main Beach, Gold Coast. The role offers Part Time and Casual positions with competitive hourly rates and penalties for nights and Sundays, reflecting the afterhours schedule.

You will help create a safe, welcoming environment across our world‑famous properties, patrolling, controlling access, monitoring CCTV, responding to incidents and assisting supervisors as required.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Unarmed Security Licence with Provide First Aid, Monitoring and Crowd Control modules.
• Blue Card is essential (cost referenced in listing).
• RSA certificate and a current unrestricted driver’s licence are required.

Responsibilities

• Patrol our properties to ensure guest, team member and asset safety.
• Manage access control for visitors and contractors; operate gatehouse; issue keys.
• Monitor CCTV and respond to incidents; support Park Supervisors and Managers as needed.
• Carry out lock-up patrols when rostered at the Resort; assist in emergency procedures.
• Monitor animal life support systems after hours and escalate concerns as required.

As an Afterhours Security Officer at Sea World, you’ll help create a safe and welcoming environment across our world-famous properties. You’ll be part of a team that ensures the safety and wellbeing of our guests, team members, and attractions, all while being surrounded by the energy and fun of the entertainment industry.

Key Responsibilities

Every shift brings a new adventure behind the scenes! You’ll be:

• Stay Alert - Patrol our properties to ensure the safety of guests, team members and assets, including theme park lock-up patrols.
• Keep things moving - Manage access control for visitors and contractors, including gatehouse operations, issuing of keys to correct persons and vehicle checks.
• Eyes on security - Monitor CCTV from the Gatehouse and stay alert to activity across the property.
• Take charge - Respond to incidents and provide assistance to Park Supervisors and Managers as required.
• Keep everyone safe and happy - Ensure the safety of team members and guests and provide conflict resolution.
• Keep the Resort secure - When rostered at the Resort, carry out lock-up patrols, ensure guest safety and respond to incidents as required.
• Monitor critical systems - Monitor animal life support systems after hours and escalated any concerns to the Senior on duty.
• Be calm under pressure - Handle emergency procedures and act as the communication point for the Emergency Response Team.

What We’re Looking For

• A current Unarmed Security License (including Provide First Aid, Monitoring and Crowd Control modules)
• Blue Card is essential* (Please be advised that the cost of a Blue Card is currently $108.30)
• RSA certificate (essential)
• A current unrestricted Driver’s License
• Intermediate computer skills required
• Availability to work any day including nights, weekends and school holidays
• A willingness to obtain Provide Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (we’ll assist with booking and will cover the cost!)
