Job summary

Village Roadshow Limited's Movie World on the Gold Coast is seeking expressions of interest from current security team members for a higher duties relief role on the night shift. You will assist with the day-to-day running of the Security Night Shift, mentor Security Officers, and help ensure the ongoing safety and security of our properties.

The role requires a Blue Card, at least 6 months as a Security Officer at Movie World, and flexibility to work night shifts.

Qualifications

• Blue Card is essential.
• Minimum 6-month experience as a Security Officer at Movie World.
• Flexibility to work Night Shifts over periods of time when requested.
• Guest Service experience with effective communication skills and problem solving ability.
• Professional and friendly disposition with the ability to work under pressure, multi-task & meet deadlines.
• Demonstrate the ability to learn & utilise equipment such as two-way radio.
• Knowledge of computer programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel.
• Cash in Transit certificate

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership on the night shift and assist with day-to-day security operations.
• Mentor Security Officers and ensure safety of guests and property.
• Collaborate with Security Supervisor to implement training and reporting.
• Maintain gate house operations and visitor/contractor access controls.
• Conduct routine grounds patrols and ensure animal and asset safety.
• Complete written shift reports and incident documentation.

The Opportunity

We are seeking expressions of interest from current Security team members interested in stepping into a higher duties opportunity.

Reporting to the Security Coordinator, you will assist with the day-to-day running of the Security Night Shift, mentor Security Officers, and help ensure the ongoing safety and security of our properties.

Key Responsibilities

When the park winds down, your leadership and vigilance step up. You’ll:

• Provide specialist knowledge on training related issues and topics for the security department.
• Follow all safely procedures, policies and signage to ensure a safe environment for guests and employees.
• Contribute significantly to the implementation of training evaluation processes.
• Require close collaboration and integration of activity with the Security Supervisor.
• Maintain patrol of grounds for the safety of the animals and property.
• Maintain gate house operations, such as visitor/contractor access control, registering of vehicles, issues of keys to appropriate persons, bag/boot checks, and ensure that written reports are completed each shift.

We’re looking for a reliable, experienced security professional who’s ready to step up after hours. You’ll bring:

• Blue Card is essential* (Please be advised that the cost of a Blue Card is currently $108.30).
• Minimum 6-month experience as a Security Officer with Movie World
• Flexibility to work Night Shifts over periods of time when requested.
• Guest Service experience with effective communication skills and problem solving ability.
• Professional and friendly disposition with an ability to work under pressure, multi-task & meet deadlines.
• Demonstrate the ability to learn & utilise equipment such as computer & two-way radio.
• Incident report writing.
• Knowledge of computer programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel
• Cash in Transit certificate
