Job summary

Kyabram District Health Service (KDHS) seeks an After Hours Primary Care Services Coordinator to lead the ongoing delivery of the after-hours service. You will coordinate a multidisciplinary after-hours workforce, including GP and nursing rostering, to ensure safe, responsive care for Campaspe residents outside standard hours.

The role focuses on workforce planning, governance support, performance monitoring and stakeholder engagement to improve access and health outcomes in the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing, Allied Health or Health Administration qualification (or equivalent) with relevant clinical experience.
• Proven experience in a clinic coordination or healthcare administration role with understanding of GP clinic operations, patient flow, appointment systems and familiarity with Medicare billing, private patient billing for medicare ineligible patients and health fund processes.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a track record of engaging diverse stakeholders, particularly GPs, primary health care workers and staff in UCC/EDs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving skills; able to prepare stakeholder communications, reports and presentations for KDHS/MPHN.
• Ability to work autonomously, adapt to changing circumstances and implement effective solutions, including staff shortages and patient surges.
• Understanding of privacy legislation and healthcare accreditation standards.
• Familiarity with primary healthcare operations, policies and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in medical workforce, healthcare or practice management.
• Experience in undertaking accreditation applications and assessments in GP Practice or Healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day management and operational oversight of the after-hours service.
• Roster multidisciplinary after-hours workforce including GPs and nursing.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, admin and executive staff to improve service effectiveness and patient experience.
• Monitor service performance metrics and stakeholder communications for KDHS Board and MPHN.
• Ensure timely access to urgent, non-life-threatening primary care outside standard hours.
