Hunter New England Local Health District – Taree NSW is seeking an experienced After-Hours Clinical Nurse Educator to lead and deliver nursing education, identify learning needs and promote evidence-based practice across shifts.

The role focuses on developing educational programs, mentoring staff, coordinating Life Support training and advancing clinical capability to improve patient outcomes. Flexible after-hours roster with an opportunity to shape learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience delivering clinical education using adult learning principles and facilitation skills.
• Ability to identify learning needs and develop tailored education strategies.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with a diverse team.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and credentials (ALSO DETECT) or willingness to obtain them.
• Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA with post-registration qualifications.
• After Hours Clinical Nurse Educator role requiring after-hours on a rotating roster.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate clinical education, orientation and ongoing professional development for nursing staff.
• Identify individual and team learning needs and develop engaging, evidence-based education programs.
• Mentor and support nurses to build clinical confidence, competence and safe practice.
• Coordinate and deliver Basic and Advanced Life Support training.
• Undertake competency assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of education initiatives.
• Support Standard 8, the Clinical Emergency Response System and the Rapid Response team.
• Collaborate with clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams to improve care quality and patient outcomes.
