Job summary

Department of Families, Fairness & Housing VIC – Shepparton VIC is seeking a Child Protection Practitioner to support the After-Hours team, responding to urgent child protection matters outside core hours.

You will work a structured roster, travel as required, and benefit from penalties and allowances under the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2024; commencing salary ranges from $81,496 to $98,955 per annum.

Qualifications

• Social work, welfare or psychology background required.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Understanding of child safety legislation and practices.

Responsibilities

• Respond to urgent child protection matters outside core hours.
• Provide investigation and response to new reports of potential abuse or neglect.
• Plan development and emergency outreach visits as required.
