Job summary

Service Stream has an opening for an Aerodrome Reporting Officer based at RAAF Darwin to support a Defence contract. You will oversee day-to-day operational control, compliance, and report to DASR/MOS 139 frameworks, ensuring airbase safety and certification.

Responsibilities include inspections, NOTAMs, data updates, and coordination with BST providers. The role requires current ARO/WSO, ASIC, and AROC certifications, with willingness to obtain Defence clearance.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aviation (Aerodrome Operations) or equivalent.
• Current Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) certification.
• ASIC valid for airport security.
• AROC certificate for radio operations.
• Experience in a similar role and ability to obtain Defence clearance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational control and reporting to ensure compliance with DASR/MOS 139 and AO services plan.
• Conduct inspections and maintain reporting and documentation to support airbase operability and certification.
• Manage aerodrome data updates, aircraft manifests, NOTAMs, and OLS impacts, CASA and Defence protocols.
• Draft and monitor NOTAMs to meet safety and compliance standards.
• Maintain FOD register and update SOPs for AO safety and compliance.
• Coordinate AO maintenance and liaise with BST providers for safe operations.
• Support audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Investigate incidents and security breaches, reporting outcomes to Aerodrome Operators.
• Perform ground handling support including fuelling, marshalling, and fireguard duties.

About the role

You will be responsible for the oversight and provision of day-to-day operational control, compliance and reporting to ensure compliance with DASR / MOS 139 and the AO services plan.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting inspections and maintaining reporting and documentation to support airbase operability and certification.
• Managing Aerodrome data updates, aircraft manifests, NOTAMs, and OLS impacts, CASA, and Defence protocols.
• Drafting and monitoring NOTAMs to meet safety and compliance standards.
• Maintaining FOD register.
• Completing dangerous cargo documentation and ensure SOPs are current for AO safety and compliance.
• Coordinating AO maintenance and liaising with BST providers for safe operations.
• Supporting internal and external audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Investigating incidents and security breaches, reporting outcomes to Aerodrome Operators.
• Performing sweeping and mowing duties across airside operational zones.
• Conducting hazard inspections and manage wildlife, environmental, and maintenance risks.
• Providing ground handling support including fuelling, marshalling, fireguard duties, and equipment operation.
• Baggage and aircraft loading assistance as required and in compliance with the relevant SOP.
• Managing of pedestrian and vehicle movements, including escorting duties.
• Supporting air terminal operations including customer service, passenger and aircrew support, operation of Defence screening equipment in accordance with the relevant SOP.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Prior experience in a similar role, or a Certificate III in Aviation (Aerodrome Operations).
• Current certification as an Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) and Aerodrome Works Safety Officer (WSO).
• Valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
• Aircraft Radiotelephone Operator Certificate (AROC) for airport radio communications.
• Flexible, adaptable, and effective at prioritising tasks.
• Skilled in problem-solving and implementing corrective actions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
