Job summary

Merlin Entertainments is hiring a Casual Admissions Host for SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo and Madame Tussauds Sydney in Darling Harbour. You’ll be the first friendly face guests meet, guiding them on tickets, experiences and entry with enthusiasm.

Join a busy team during the summer period, working across indoor and outdoor settings and adapting to varying weather. You’ll help manage crowds, answer questions and uphold Merlin’s guest‑first standards.

What you'll bring to the team

Are you ready to spend your summer creating unforgettable experiences at some of Sydney’s most iconic attractions? We’re looking for enthusiastic, guest-focused people to join our Admissions team across SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo and Madame Tussauds Sydney in Darling Harbour. As a Casual Admissions Host, you’ll be one of the first people our guests meet, helping to set the tone for an amazing day from the moment they arrive. About the Role Reporting to the Admissions & Customer Care Manager, you’ll play an important role in delivering exceptional guest experiences across our Darling Harbour attractions. This is an active, fast-paced and highly guest-facing role. You’ll work across both indoor and outdoor areas and will need to be comfortable working in a range of weather conditions. Your responsibilities will include:

• Warmly welcoming guests and helping start their visit on a positive note.
• Helping guests choose the best ticket and experience options for their visit.
• Checking tickets and building excitement as guests enter our attractions.
• Managing queues, crowds and guest flow across indoor and outdoor areas.
• Supporting safe attraction capacities and operational procedures.
• Answering questions about our attractions, Darling Harbour and Sydney.
• Acting as an ambassador for Merlin Entertainments and delivering memorable guest experiences.

About You We’re looking for people who enjoy working with others, thrive in busy environments and genuinely enjoy helping guests. You’ll be a great fit if you have:

• Strong availability throughout our peak summer trading period.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must also:

• Be currently located in Australia at the time of application.
• Be available to attend an in-person interview in Sydney in October as part of the recruitment process.
• Be available to work across all NSW school holidays and public holidays during the contract period.
• Have availability across a mix of weekdays and weekends.

These roles are expected to carry through from November 2026 to February 2027. While these positions are being recruited specifically for our busy summer period, there may be opportunities for some team members to continue with us afterwards in an ongoing part-time or casual role, subject to business needs and performance.
