To be successful in this position you will require:
The aim of the Gold Coast Public Health Unit and the public health program it administers, is to manage risks to the health and wellbeing of the community by promoting and protecting health and preventing disease. The Unit provides a person and population focused response to communicable and non-communicable diseases, and environmental health hazards, by undertaking risk assessments, delivering immunisation services, health surveillance, prevention programs, public health incident response and monitoring and enforcing public health legislation.
The Gold Coast Public Health Unit team comprises specialists with expertise in many areas including communicable disease control, immunisation, health surveillance, epidemiology, environmental health, research, water quality, risk assessment, food safety standards and public health regulation.Gold Coast Public Health Unit employs a multi-disciplinary team of staff including public health physicians, public health nurses, environmental health officers, health promotion officers, epidemiologists, data officers and business services staff delivering the integrated public health program.
