About The Role

Are you an organised, community-minded administrator who enjoys supporting meaningful local initiatives? The City of Ballarat is seeking a Social Inclusion Action Group Administration Officer to support Social Inclusion Ballarat, a local Social Inclusion Action Group established as part of Recommendation 15 of the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System.

Social Inclusion Ballarat brings together community members with lived and living experience of isolation and strong connections to communities most at risk of loneliness. Together, and with the support of the Social Inclusion Action Group team at City of Ballarat, the group works to strengthen social connection, inclusion, participation, and mental wellbeing across the Ballarat community.

Based within the Reconciliation and Social Inclusion team, this role provides high-quality administrative, coordination, and program support to help the Social Inclusion Action Group operate effectively and deliver local initiatives that respond to community priorities.

What You Will Do
  • Support the coordination and administration of Social Inclusion Ballarat meetings, including agendas, minutes, communications, records, and follow-up actions.
  • Help administer the Local Social Inclusion Investment Fund, including grant processes, applications, assessment coordination, reporting, acquittals, and budget administration.
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, process invoices, and support compliance with Council procedures and requirements.
  • Assist with community engagement activities, communications, event coordination, web content, directories, and project documentation.
  • Provide broader administrative support to the Reconciliation and Social Inclusion team, including support for Council advisory committees and community events as required.
About You

You are a proactive and capable administrator who can manage competing priorities, communicate clearly, and work respectfully with a wide range of people, community groups, organisations, and stakeholders. You bring strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and a commitment to confidentiality, inclusion, and community wellbeing. A sound understanding of prevention and mental health promotion would be well regarded.

You will ideally have experience in administration, grants management, project or events support, records management, report writing, and using Microsoft 365 or similar systems. A tertiary qualification in administration, project management, community development, or another relevant area is highly desirable.
