As the Ward Administration Officer, you will provide professional administrative support that enables the smooth operation of ward and outpatient services while delivering outstanding customer service to patients, carers and visitors. You will be the first point of contact for the ward, ensuring accurate information management, effective coordination of patient movement and seamless support for clinical teams.
Manage patient admissions, transfers and discharges, maintaining accurate records across iPM, Cerner PowerChart and electronic patient management systems.
Coordinate referrals, bookings and appointments for the Day Medical Unit while liaising with patients, carers and clinical staff.
Deliver exceptional frontline customer service, responding to enquiries and supporting patients and visitors in a busy healthcare environment.
Maintain electronic health records, documentation and patient information in line with confidentiality and health record requirements.
Support ward operations through stock ordering, resource coordination, equipment maintenance requests and workplace health and safety processes.

Willing to obtain a Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent within an allocated timeframe
High level customer service skills
Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients
Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail
Ability to work with minimal supervision and use initiative
Understanding of the management of patient complaints and patient privacy
Highly developed communication, coaching and facilitation skills.
Demonstrated skill in the analysis of complex issues, problem solving, formulating new approaches and implementing comprehensive change programs and improvement strategies, including the ability to develop and monitor outcomes
