Our Public Health Unit is composed of Communicable Disease Control, Immunisation, and Environmental Health teams that work closely with GPs, hospitals, pathology labs, schools and childcare centres, local councils, aged care facilities, and with other government agencies to protect public health. The team provides advice and education, and enforce public health legislation such as the Public Health Act 2010, the Public Health (Tobacco) Act 2008 and the Smoke-free Environment Act 2000.
Are you a highly organised and proactive administration professional looking to make a meaningful impact? We are seeking an Administration Officer to join our Public Health Unit and provide high-level clerical and administrative support to the Service Director Public Health, the Public Health Leadership Team, and the Immunisation, Environmental Health and Communicable Diseases teams.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the Public Health Unit. You will coordinate administrative activities, manage correspondence and documentation, support meetings and reporting requirements, and assist teams delivering critical public health programs and services across the community.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to important public health initiatives and emergency response activities. As part of the Public Health Incident Management Team, you will undertake the role of Administration Officer and participate in public health emergency preparedness and response activities. This may include providing administrative support during emergency responses, including after-hours when required.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with excellent organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality administrative support. Experience working in a complex healthcare or government environment will be highly regarded, along with strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach to working with diverse teams.
