Job summary

Thales is seeking an ADATS Technical Training Manager in Australia to support training, assessment, development and delivery for the Australian Defence Air Traffic System (ADATS) and related life cycle activities.

Applicants should hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40122) or equivalent, plus an Advanced Electronics certificate and relevant ADF training experience. National security clearance is required for the role.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Air Traffic Management systems.
• Ground radar knowledge and experience.
• Proficiency with UNIX-based data processing/display systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop or assist in training materials and assessments.
• Lead delivery of ADATS training and assessment events.
• Supervise and mentor trainees during training.
• Support training evaluation, validation and needs analysis.

Key Activities And Responsibilities

The ADATS Training Instructor will be responsible to:

• undertake and/or assist in the development of training and assessment material, when required
• lead the delivery of ADATS training and assessment events
• supervise, coordinate, mentor and monitor the performance of trainees undertaking training
• undertake and/or assist in the development or conduct of training evaluation and validation activities
• undertake and/or assist in the development or conduct of training needs analysis activities
• provide an equitable and accessible training and assessment environment for all training customers and participants

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40122) or equivalent
• Advanced Certificate in Electronics or equivalent
• vocational experience as a ADF Training Instructor; or
• vocational experience in the Training Instructor for RAN/RNZN/RNZAF/RN/RAF roles.
• demonstrated strong experience in the Air Traffic Management technical domain.
• Primary and Secondary Ground RADAR knowledge and / experience
• UNIX based Data Processing and Display computer system knowledge and experience
