Wilpena Resort is seeking an experienced Activities Manager based at the Wilpena Pound Visitor Centre. You will lead the activities team, coordinate tours and guest transfers, and train tour guides to meet Discovery Parks standards.

You will work with Reservations and Front Office to schedule departures, manage rosters, and uphold safety, compliance and guest satisfaction in a stunning outback setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as Activities Manager or Tour Guide providing guest experiences.
• Strong commitment to high guest experience and safety.
• Passion for outdoors, nature, wildlife, geology and indigenous culture.
• Excellent daily logistics planning and rostering.
• Organised with multitasking and delegation to a team.
• Experience leading a team including rostering and budgets.
• Ability to delegate and ensure quality outcomes.
• Familiarity with Rezdy and RMS systems.
• Knowledge of hospitality industry and guest service.
• Clear communication and decision making.
• Ensure safety and compliance with travel regulations.
• Oversee tour vehicle upkeep and maintenance.
• Australian Driver's Licence is mandatory; MR licence and accreditation required.
• South Australian Driver Accreditation (large vehicle) required.
• RSA essential.

About the Role

The Activities Manager is responsible for the resort’s tours and activity’s function, including guests transfers, tours and activities, education and training of tour guides and meeting financial targets and operational standards.

The role requires a high level of communication with all resort departments and external group tour managers, whilst maintaining a high standard of guest services and customer relations in line with Discovery Parks standards.

You will work closely with Reservations and Front Office teams to plan and organise tour departures including scheduling, booking, and coordinating groups.

Based at the Wilpena Pound Visitor Centre, the Activities Manager will interact regularly with guests whilst leading the activities team to exceed guest expectations, providing memorable and meaningful experiences for all visitors to Wilpena Pound.

About you

• Previous Experience as an Activities Manager and or Tour Guide.
• Commitment to providing a high level of guest experience
• Passion for outdoors, nature & wildlife, geology, and indigenous culture and tourism
• Highly organized in planning daily logistics of arriving guests/outgoing guests and managing the tours schedule and guide roster
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
• Experience leading a team including rostering and department financials
• Ability to effectively delegate work and manage quality outcomes
• Experience with Rezdy and RMS
• Resort and hospitality industry knowledge
• Strong verbal and written communication and effective decision making
• Ensure safety and compliance with all travel regulations and company policies
• Oversee the cleanliness, compliance and maintenance of tour vehicles
• Current Australian Driver's License mandatory for this role, MR license and Drivers Accreditation is a must.
• South Australian Drivers Accreditation (large vehicle) required
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) is essential
