Job summary

Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network is seeking an Associate Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager to lead a nursing/midwifery team in Transitional Care. You will deliver high-quality care, mentor junior staff and support service management while driving practice improvements and continuity of care.

The role requires NMBA registration or eligibility, 3+ years post-registration experience, and demonstrated rehab nursing competence with staff supervision. Remuneration is AUD 109,637 to 117,215 p.a.

Qualifications

• Registered or eligible for NMBA registration as Nurse/Midwife.
• Minimum three years’ post-registration experience or current Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
• Competence in rehabilitation nursing/midwifery and supervising students/staff.
• Effective communication and teamwork with ability to prioritise workloads.
• Knowledge of legislation, standards and quality improvement systems.

About the Role:

Join our nursing and midwifery team in a leadership role where you’ll deliver quality care, mentor developing practitioners and support service management, practice improvements and continuity of care while building your leadership skills.

What We're Looking For:

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with NMBA and holds, or is eligible to hold, a current practising certificate.
• Minimum three years’ post-registration experience or current classification as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
• Demonstrated competence in rehabilitation nursing/midwifery practice and experience supervising students and less experienced staff.
• Effective communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution and teamwork skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads under minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, professional standards, contemporary healthcare issues and quality improvement systems.

Desired Criteria

• Relevant qualifications in nursing or human services, with postgraduate studies in rehabilitation desirable.
• Ability to foster staff development, use relevant computer systems and contribute to quality improvement activities.
• Knowledge of the South Australian Public Health System and experience applying nursing research to clinical practice.
