Job summary

Daydream Island Resort & Living Reef is seeking a Watersports Attendant to greet guests, advise on activities, and supervise safety across snorkelling, kayaking, and paddle boarding on Queensland's Whitsunday Island. You will assist with equipment selection and conduct thorough safety briefings for a seamless guest experience.

Laid-back island lifestyle, with a focus on exceptional service, time management, and proactive safety. Eligibility to work in Australia is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in watersports or similar role.
• Genuine passion for water sports.
• Knowledge of local water conditions and marine life is an advantage.
• Exceptional customer service and shows initiative.
• Exceptional time management with high attention to detail.
• Proven ability to follow safety work practices.
• Must hold current qualifications - First Aid, CPR, Advanced Resuscitation & O2 provider.
• Australian Coxswain grade III (or international equivalent) and previous sailing experience is highly regarded.
• Must be eligible to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide information about available watersports activities.

• Monitor and ensure the safety of guests participating in watersport activities including swimming, snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding.
• Offer assistance and guidance to guests as needed during their watersport adventures.
• Maintain an inventory of equipment and report any damaged or missing items.
• Follow safety protocols and respond effectively in emergency situations.
• Promote a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to enhance the guest experience.

Daydream Island Resort & Living Reef is located in the heart of Queensland’s Whitsunday Islands and the gateway to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. With stunning views out to the impossibly blue waters of the Whitsundays, it is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the island.

The island is one of the closest Whitsunday islands to the mainland (Airlie Beach) with spectacular 30-minute ferry ride to work each day.
