Job summary

Daydream Island Resort & Living Reef is seeking a motivated watersports host to greet guests, brief on activities and assist with equipment on the island in Queensland. You will guide guests through watersport options, ensure safety protocols are followed, and contribute to a memorable island experience.

Experience in watersports or guest-facing roles, strong customer service, and current First Aid/CPR certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in watersports or guest-facing roles.
• Passion for water sports and strong guest service.
• Knowledge of local water conditions and marine life is a plus.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow safety work practices and emergency procedures.
• Current First Aid, CPR, Advanced Resuscitation and O2 certifications.
• Australian Coxswain Grade III or international equivalent preferred.
• Eligible to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide information about available watersports activities.
• Assist guests in selecting appropriate watersports equipment and gear.
• Conduct safety briefings and provide instructions before activities.
• Monitor and ensure safety during activities including swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and paddle boarding.
• Offer assistance and guidance to guests during watersport adventures.
• Maintain equipment inventory and report damaged or missing items.
• Follow safety protocols and respond effectively in emergencies.
• Promote a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to enhance the guest experience.

Daydream Island Resort & Living Reef is located in the heart of Queensland’s Whitsunday Islands and the gateway to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. With stunning views out to the impossibly blue waters of the Whitsundays, it is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the island.

The island is one of the closest Whitsunday islands to the mainland (Airlie Beach) with spectacular 30-minute ferry ride to work each day.

Job Description

• Greet guests and provide information about available watersports activities
• Assist guests in selecting appropriate watersports equipment and gear
• Conduct safety briefings and provide instructions to guests before they embark on watersport activities
• Monitor and ensure the safety of guests participating in watersport activities including swimming, snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding
• Offer assistance and guidance to guests as needed during their watersport adventures
• Maintain an inventory of equipment and report any damaged or missing items
• Follow safety protocols and respond effectively in emergency situations
• Promote a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to enhance the guest experience

This role is a live off poisition.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in waters ports or a similar role
• Genuine passion for water sports
• Knowledge of local water conditions and marine life is an advantage
• Exceptional customer service and shows initiative
• Exceptional time management, whilst ensuring high attention to detail
• Proven ability to follow safety work practices
• Must holds current qualifications - F irst Aid, CPR, Advanced Resuscitation & O2 provider
• Australian Coxswain grade III (or international equivalent to transfer to AMSA) and previous sailing experience is highly regarded
• Must be eligible to work in Australia
