Job summary

Monash University is seeking an experienced Active Directory Engineer to shape and support its global Core Authentication Services. The role spans on‑prem and cloud platforms, focusing on identity, authentication and authorisation services that power a large technology ecosystem.

You’ll design, implement and maintain Microsoft server environments, contribute to architecture decisions, and provide expert technical guidance across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Microsoft Active Directory, AD CS and Entra ID across on‑prem and cloud.
• Experience designing, implementing and maintaining large-scale identity services.
• Proven Windows Server administration for highly available authentication services.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for complex issues.
• Experience drafting policies, standards and technical documentation.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, enhance and maintain core authentication services across on-prem and cloud.
• Deliver new services, upgrades and lifecycle improvements with guidance to teams.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, automation, testing strategies and documentation.
