Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking an experienced Active Directory Engineer to implement, secure, and optimise enterprise identity services. You will maintain AD environments, support hybrid identity, and drive automation using PowerShell to improve resilience and security across the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Experience administering enterprise Active Directory environments (AD DS) and policy management.
  • Experience with hybrid identity services and cloud identity initiatives.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain enterprise AD environments including domains, forests, trusts, and domain controllers.
  • Manage DNS, DHCP and authentication services.
  • Support hybrid identity with Entra ID integration and cloud identity initiatives.
  • Develop PowerShell automation and document procedures.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure and applications teams to identify and remediate identity risks.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Active Directory Engineer to support the implementation, administration, security, and ongoing optimisation of enterprise identity and directory services. This role plays a critical part in protecting enterprise identity platforms, enabling secure access, maintaining service resilience, and reducing operational and security risk across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, secure, and maintain enterprise Active Directory environments, including domains, forests, trusts, replication, domain controllers, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and authentication services.
  • Support hybrid identity services, including Microsoft Entra ID integration, synchronisation technologies, cloud identity initiatives, and authentication solutions.
  • Monitor platform health, performance, security, backup, disaster recovery, and operational resilience of Active Directory and related services.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell automation, technical documentation, operational procedures, and engineering standards to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Partner with cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure, and application teams to identify and remediate identity risks, support incident investigations, and contribute to modernisation initiatives.
