Job summary

Southern Highland Motor Group is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Officer to join our accounts team. This is a full-time position based in Moss Vale, NSW. As an Accounts Payable Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing our supplier payments and maintaining accurate financial records. Your work will ensure the smooth operation of our accounts payable function and contribute to the overall financial health of the organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Processing invoices from suppliers accurately and efficiently, ensuring all documentation is complete and correct
• Recording payables into the accounting system and maintaining detailed records of all transactions
• Verifying invoices against purchase orders and delivery notes to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Processing supplier payments in a timely manner whilst maintaining strong internal controls
• Managing the accounts payable ledger and reconciling supplier statements on a regular basis
• Responding to supplier enquiries regarding payment status and resolving outstanding issues
• Supporting month-end and year-end close processes by preparing reconciliations and documentation
• Assisting with expense reports and reimbursements as required
• Maintaining organised filing systems and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures

What we're looking for

• Preferred experience as an Accounts Payable Officer, Accounts Clerk or similar role in accounts payable or general accounting
• Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies quickly
• Solid understanding of accounts payable procedures, invoicing processes and financial controls
• Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and external suppliers
• A professional attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
