Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking an Accounts Payable leader to own the payables function within a well-established industrial organisation. Lead a small AP team, manage the full cycle from invoice receipt to payment, and partner with suppliers and internal teams while maintaining strong controls.

The role offers a hybrid working arrangement and exposure to process improvements in a busy, high-volume environment. Salary is competitive with a base around $130,000 plus super and a bonus; CBD location and

Qualifications

• Strong background in accounts payable or transactional finance with leadership experience
• End-to-end AP knowledge: POs, matching, payment runs and reconciliations
• Comfort with ERP and invoice automation systems
• Good working knowledge of GST and financial controls
• Experience in fast-paced operations such as resources, construction or manufacturing is advantageous
• Organised and able to manage competing deadlines

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small AP team, set priorities and move work forward
• Oversee the full payables cycle from invoice receipt to payment
• Assist with complex issues, discrepancies and disputes
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams
• Maintain tight controls around approvals, payments and supplier records
• Contribute to month-end processes and audits
