Job summary

Whitsunday Foodservice in Cannonvale is seeking an Accounts Officer to support our Accounts Lead and report to the Financial & IT Systems Manager as part of a small, capable team. You will handle accounts receivable, accounts payable, data entry, and customer support to keep our financial operations running smoothly.

The role is a detail-driven, proactive position with standard hours from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounts, bookkeeping, or a similar role.
• Experience with chart of accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Debtor management, supplier follow-up, and account reconciliation.
• Excellent attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
• Experience with MYOB, Xero or similar accounting software.
• Availability to work during school holidays.

Responsibilities

• Accurate entry of invoices, credit notes, and customer payments.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable with supplier/customer follow-up.
• Debtor calling and monitoring overdue accounts for timely collections.
• Set up and maintain supplier and customer accounts in the system.
• Assist with bank and account reconciliations.
• Maintain chart of accounts and general ledger.
• Respond to inbound account inquiries by phone and email.
• Provide customer service and internal support on account matters.
• Support month-end processes and general financial reporting.
• Ensure data accuracy across inventory, sales and purchasing systems.
