We are looking for an experienced and organised Accounts & Office Administrator to join our team in South Mackay. This is a varied, hands‑on position suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work and is comfortable moving between accounts, payroll, administration and customer service throughout the day. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day bookkeeping and accounts functions of the business while also helping keep the office running smoothly. As one of the first points of contact for our customers, you'll also play an important role in providing friendly and professional service both over the phone and at our front counter.
Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
Complete bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
Follow up outstanding accounts and manage debt collection
Process payroll and superannuation
Assist with employee onboarding and payroll administration
Prepare and lodge BAS and PAYGW obligations
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date bookkeeping records
Answer incoming phone calls and assist with customer enquiries
Attend to customers at the front counter
Create and maintain job sheets
Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounts and payroll
Experience preparing BAS and managing PAYGW requirements
Strong experience with Reckon Accounts Hosted and QuickBooks Online (QBO)
Good working knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and time‑management skills
The ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload
Confident communication skills, both over the phone and face‑to‑face
A friendly, professional approach to customers and colleagues
The ability to work independently and take ownership of day‑to‑day responsibilities
Permanent full‑time position
