Job summary

DBM Advisory Pty Ltd in Melbourne CBD is seeking a Junior Accountant to join our growing team. This full‑time role offers a supportive environment to develop taxation and accounting skills, with exposure to diverse client work.

You will prepare income tax returns, process accounts payable and receivable, assist payroll, bank reconciliations, and help with financial reporting and compliance under supervision.

Qualifications

• A relevant accounting qualification or diploma (or equivalent in progress), such as a Certificate IV in Accounting or Associate Degree in Accounting.
• Competency in accounting software, including familiarity with Xero or similar platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record‑keeping.
• A solid understanding of basic bookkeeping principles and accounting concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Reliability and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
• A willingness to learn and develop your accounting knowledge.
• Experience with other accounting software or exposure to tax compliance would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supporting payroll administration and ensuring accurate employee payment records.

• Supporting senior accountants on projects as required.
