Tony White Group (TWG) is seeking an experienced Accountant to own the finance function across two growing businesses, TWG Carbuyers and Verifi Inspect, in Melbourne. You will run month-end close, deliver management reporting, and ensure BAS/GST compliance while building strong financial controls.

This hands-on role covers the full accounting cycle from day-to-day AP/AR through to reporting, with opportunities to improve processes and provide financial insight to support strategic decisions.

Qualificações

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• Hands-on experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• 3+ years' experience in an Accountant or Assistant Accountant role.
• Proven experience running month-end close and preparing management reports.
• Sound knowledge of BAS, GST and Australian accounting standards.
• Experience with Xero and/or Eclipse; automotive industry experience highly regarded.
• Advanced Excel skills, including reconciliations, lookups and pivot tables.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines across two businesses.
• Confidence communicating financial information clearly to non-finance managers.

Responsabilidades

• Process accounts payable and receivable hands-on, including supplier invoices, creditor payments, customer invoicing and debtor follow-up, plus daily bank reconciliations.
• Manage ledger integrity in Xero and Eclipse, including inter-account transfers and clearing accounts.
• Monitor cash flow and provide regular cash position reporting.
• Maintain and strengthen financial controls, approval processes and policy compliance.
• Support year-end with external accountants and auditors on financial statements and tax.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, and provide clear explanations to management.
• Identify and lead improvements to accounting processes, systems and reporting.

ABOUT THE ROLE

TWG Carbuyers, part of the Tony White Group, is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Accountant to take ownership of the finance function across two growing businesses, TWG Carbuyers and Verifi Inspect.

Reporting to senior management, you'll run the month-end close, prepare management reporting, manage BAS and GST compliance, and make sure the numbers are accurate, timely and well controlled. You'll be the go-to person for financial insight, working closely with management to understand performance and support decision-making.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys owning the full accounting cycle, from day-to-day AP and AR through to month-end and reporting, improving processes and building strong financial controls in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own the month-end close for both businesses, including accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliations.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• Hands-on experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• 3+ years' experience in an Accountant or Assistant Accountant role, ideally in a small-to-medium business.
• Proven experience running month-end close and preparing management reports.
• Sound knowledge of BAS, GST and Australian accounting standards.
• Experience with Xero and/or Eclipse (automotive industry experience highly regarded).
• Advanced Excel skills, including reconciliations, lookups and pivot tables.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing deadlines across two businesses.
• Confidence working independently and communicating financial information clearly to non-finance managers.
• A proactive, solutions-focused attitude and a drive for continuous improvement.
