Synergie Australia is partnering with a well-established and growing business to recruit an experienced Accountant for their Brisbane team. This is a broad, hands-on accounting position offering exposure across financial reporting, payroll, compliance, management reporting and business operations.

Please note: Cantonese language skills are a non-negotiable requirement for this role. Candidates must be able to communicate professionally in both English and Cantonese.

What you will be required to do

• Manage month-end and year-end financial reporting processes
• Prepare management reports and variance analysis
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger functions
• Manage payroll activities including onboarding, terminations and timesheet processing
• Prepare and coordinate BAS, GST, PAYG, Payroll Tax and other statutory reporting requirements
• Monitor intercompany transactions and reconciliations
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and financial analysis
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies
• Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
• Support broader business improvement and finance projects

To be successful in the role you will

• Hold tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Have previous experience working in an Accountant position
• Demonstrate strong financial and management accounting capability
• Possess sound knowledge of GST, BAS, PAYG and statutory compliance requirements
• Have advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Be confident working across multiple priorities and stakeholders
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with Dynamics 365 will be highly regarded
• FMCG, wholesale, distribution or import/export industry experience will be advantageous
• Be fluent in Cantonese and English (essential and non-negotiable)
• Mandarin language skills will be highly regarded
