Job summary

RDO Equipment Co in Richlands, Brisbane is seeking a proactive Accountant to deliver accurate financial information, ensure compliance with Australian standards, and support the finance team.

You will manage month-end journals, reporting, BAS/FBT, asset register, budgeting and forecasting, and assist with audits, leveraging your CA/CPA background and ERP experience to strengthen the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• CA/CPA qualification or working towards it.
• Experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong MS Excel skills and ERP experience.

Responsibilities

• Calculate and post end of month provision and accrual journals.
• Prepare end-of-month and end-of-year reporting, including balance sheet reconciliations and lease accounting journals.
• Prepare financial reports for internal and external use.
• Prepare BAS and FBT returns.
• Maintain the asset register and manage additions/disposals.
• Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
• Respond to audit requests and provide schedules and documentation.
• Review team work and provide guidance.
• Stay compliant with Australian Accounting Standards.

The Role:

We’re looking for a proactiveand experienced Accountant to join our Richlands office. You’ll play a key rolein delivering accurate and timely financial information, ensuring compliancewith accounting standards, and sharing your expertise to strengthen the team’soverall capability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Calculate and post end of month provision and accrual journals
• Prepare end-of-month and end-of-year reporting, including balancesheet reconciliations and lease accounting journals
• Prepare financial reports for internal and external use
• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Fringe Benefits Tax(FBT) returns
• Maintain the asset register and manage additions/disposals
• Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
• Respond to audit requests and provide supporting schedules and documentation as required.
• Review the work of team members and providing guidance
• Prepare lease accounting journals and reconciliations (compliantwith AASB16)
• Stay up to date with compliance requirements (e.g., GST, FBT, andAustralian Accounting Standards)
• Identify and propose resolution for existing and emergingaccounting issues.
• Evaluate processes and workload to maximise efficiency.
• Assist where required with other finance team tasks andresponsibilities

To succeed in this role, you’llbring

• Experience in a similar accounting role
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• CA/CPA qualified (or working towards it)
• Strong MS Excel skills and experience using ERP systems
• A solid understanding of Australian Accounting Standards
• A proven ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines, and workindependently
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor teammembers
