Job summary

McLardy McShane Insurance Advisors seeks a qualified insurance professional in Sydney to grow and service an existing client network. You will handle quotations, policy documentation, claims management, and renewal negotiations while developing new business opportunities.

The role requires RG 146 knowledge, compliance awareness, and strong relationship management. A Diploma in Financial Services is desirable, with a background in business studies and debtor management preferred.

Qualifications

• Tier 2 and Tier 1 qualifications mandatory.
• Diploma of Financial Services desirable.
• Budget management and debtor management experience.
• Knowledge of RG 146 and RG 271 Internal Dispute Resolution.
• Strong client relationships and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Grow and service an existing network of accounts including quotations, claims management, policy docs and file audits.
• Develop new business opportunities and report generation.
• Assist in end of month requirements and debtors collection under Branch Manager guidance.
• Maintain relationships with underwriters and other insurance professionals.
• Renewals: gather underwriting information and negotiate terms.
• Handle claim settlements in the client’s best interests.
• Ensure complaints are escalated and resolved per Internal Dispute Resolution timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Growing and servicing an existing network of accounts including provision of quotation documentation, claims management, policy documentation and file audits, issue and distribution of certificates of confirmation, and preparing slip & presentations
• New business opportunity development
• Report generation and distribution
• Assist in the preparation of end of month requirements
• Assist in debtors collection under the guidance & instruction of Branch Manager
• Develop relationships with underwriters and insurance professionals
• Maintaining client relationships through personal advice, presenting recommendations and options, keeping clients briefed on market trends, and maintaining regular contact
• Policy renewal including gathering underwriting information, obtaining renewal instructions, negotiating terms with underwriters, and preparing renewal documents
• Acting on behalf of the client in the settlement of claims in their best interests
• Ensuring customer complaints are escalated and responded to within specified Internal Dispute Resolution timeframes

About you

• Tier 2 and Tier 1 qualifications mandatory
• Diploma of Financial Services desirable
• Tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline, but not mandatory
• Budget management and debtor management experience
• Ability to build relationships with all stakeholders including staff, clients, insurance companies and other industry professionals
• Technical insurance and broking skills in accordance with RG 146 requirements including insurance products, legislative obligations, and claims processes
• Literacy in technology and systems in current use in the insurance industry
• Knowledge of RG 271 (Internal Dispute Resolution)
• Knowledge of compliance requirements in broking
• Strong client relationship management, communication, negotiation, and teamwork capabilities
