Job summary

Marathon Health Australia is seeking an Aboriginal Youth Wellbeing Worker for the headspace Outreach Program in Lightning Ridge, NSW. The role supports young people aged 12–25, helping them feel strong, connected, and supported within their community.

You will work collaboratively with First Nations staff, provide culturally safe guidance, and contribute to outreach activities across Western NSW. A driver’s licence and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

  • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (genuine occupational requirement).
  • Qualification or relevant industry experience in Mental Health, Primary Health, Community Services.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with integrity and initiative.
  • Great communication and people skills with good time management.
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
  • A valid Australian Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel; regular outreach to communities in Western NSW.

This is afull-time role(75 hours per fortnight) . You’ll be helping young people feel strong, supported and connected to services in your community.

About the Role

As anAboriginal Youth Wellbeing Workerwith ourheadspace Outreach Program, you’ll play a key role in supporting your mob and helping young people feel strong and connected. Your work might include:

  • Encouraging young people to reach out for supportand sharing ways to look after mental health in ways that make sense for your community.
  • Providing warm, culturally safe guidanceto help young people (aged 12‑25) find the right services and support when they need it.
  • Bringing people together through community activitiesthat support physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing.

You’ll be supported every step of the way by an organisation that puts its commitment to First Nations peoples at the heart of everything we do.

What You’ll Bring
