Job summary

Central Australian Aboriginal Congress in Alice Springs is seeking a Community Wellbeing Support Worker to help deliver SEWB services in a community-led health service. You will support service linkages, provide bicultural pairing with SEWB staff, advocate for client healthcare access and conduct follow-ups; the role does not include individual case management.

Job description

Full-time Contract

37.5 hours per week

Aboriginal Identified position

$74,139 - $80,321 per annum

Total Effective Package

$94,262 - $101,310

About the role

The Community Wellbeing Support Worker supports the delivery of SEWB services, including the promoting service linkages, bicultural pairing with other SEWB workers, healthcare advocacy, supporting clients to attend SEWB appointments, and providing client follow-ups. This position does not involve individual client case management.

As part of this role, you will be supported to complete a Certificate III in Allied Health, Alcohol And other drugs, community services, Mental Health, or equivalent. You will be supported to complete your studies during work.

To be considered for this position, you will require:
  • Is of Aboriginal descent; identifies as an Aboriginal person; and is accepted as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal community.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills and be willing to discuss and demonstrate own knowledge and skills with work colleagues.
  • Demonstrate an interest in Aboriginal health and primary health care and provision of assistance and care to others in the community.
  • Understand and maintain strict confidentiality in a health care setting as well as cultural sensitivity within the Aboriginal community.
  • Computer literacy with the ability to enter information into a health database such as a patient information system.
  • Willingness to work towards a Certificate III in Allied Health, Alcohol and Others Drugs, Mental Health, or equivalent.
  • Current C class NT Driver License
