Job summary

South Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking an Aboriginal Immunisation Officer to lead culturally appropriate, evidence-based immunisation initiatives. You will work with Aboriginal health partners to raise awareness and vaccination coverage across the region, using AIR and immunisation databases to target overdue vaccinations and improve health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander status is a genuine occupational requirement.
• Experience in health education, data management and reporting relevant to immunisation programs.
• Current Authority to Practice as an RN with AHPRA or willingness to obtain Cert IV or Cert III in Aboriginal Primary Health Care.

Responsibilities

• Lead culturally appropriate immunisation initiatives and awareness campaigns.
• Collaborate with Aboriginal health partners to improve vaccination coverage.
• Utilise AIR and maintain immunisation databases to identify overdue vaccinations.
• Support community engagement and delivery of accessible, person-centred immunisation services.
• Contribute to decisions that improve immunisation uptake and health outcomes.
